The Paradox of Sacrificing for Christ

As we have explored sacrificing for Christ through examining our lives, thinking about those who are in chains and the ultimate Sacrifice, I thought about the paradox of sacrificing for Christ. Right ater Jesus tells the crowd that they have to “deny self, take up their cross and follow Him”, he says; “For whoever would save his life (Rich ruler) would lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will save it.” (Luke 9:24) The paradox is this: when we sacrifice for Christ, we are not actually losing anything but gaining everything.
